Some days ago I was at the St Kilda Pier in Melbourne and happened to take some great action photos of this Kite Boarder.
A spectacular sport which is a mix of surfing and paragliding.
After spending half an hour or so snapping away, I was heading off when he "sailed" up to me and asked for some copies of my photos.
So I sent him a few and - at the time of writing - he had adorned his Facebook page with one.
Check it out, it may still be there - Fernando.
He works at the Kite Republic store in St Kilda, not far from where we were. And was obviously out there promoting the sport to passers by.
He was a great guy and you could tell by the look on his face that he really enjoyed his "job".
Lucky for me I could practise my sport photography and get some really spectacular shots.
Sometimes scenes like this just appear in front of you and provide you with a chance to watch a talented athlete, and capture the moment as it happens.
