Those SHOES! - Southbank, Melbourne, Australia
Sometimes an opportunity arises that is just a little bit off beat.
These witches hat cones were on a walkway leading to the Flinders Street railway station in my home town - Melbourne, Australia.
Placed there for no particular reason I could see - they were not protecting anything dangerous and there were no workers present.
I found it fascinating that people did not kick them, move them or seem to be bothered by the fact they had to walk around them. Every person took it for granted that these orangey/red pieces of plastic governed where they dare to tread.
I felt like kicking them over the edge of the nearby bridge spanning the Yarra River.
Instead, I took it as a sign to grab a photo. After taking a few shots, I knew I needed a bright pair of shoes to contrast against the blandness of the ground. And then I spotted this guy coming closer - and I knew that this was the shot I was waiting for. Hoping he would stroll past the point I was focused on.
BAM - got it !
It took thirty minutes out of my day, but it was worth it.
Let me know what you think, and post one of your experiences like this one.
Cheers, Rob.
